Nice to meet you at MRstudios! We are a German-owned company based in Prague, creating interactive 3D experiences that are tailor-made for a wide range of manufacturing sectors and operating systems. This includes Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) applications, 3D product visualisations, animations, and user interfaces.

Our VR, AR, and MR solutions can be found at exhibitions and showrooms of leading manufacturers, used by sales and marketing teams as truly immersive USPs, implemented to improve a manufacturer’s maintenance and support capabilities, and used to enhance professional training efforts.

To meet our growing business needs, MRstudios is looking for a full-time 3D Designer focusing on images and videos to join our international team in Prague.

Starting date
As soon as possible. October/November 2020.

You will be working in our headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic. You would need to be either residing in Prague or be willing to be in Prague for the first three weeks for the onboarding process.

After which, you are free to work from wherever you want. From time to time, ad-hoc trips to Prague may be required, during which accommodation will be provided.

+ Rendering of industrial product images for e.g. product catalogues, usually based on CAD files
+ Rendering of photorealistic environment images for product placement
+ Rendering of tailor-made, creative images
+ Rendering of process animations
+ Rendering of training, (product) teaser and turntable videos
+ Rendering of 3D logo animations
+ Rendering of tailor-made, creative videos
+ Ability to do storyboarding is a plus
+ Proactively proposing (creative) ideas according to clients’ needs

Required hard skills
+ Proficient in industry-standard DCC tools such as 3ds Max, Blender, Maya, Houdini, Modo, and Zbrush.
+ Proficient in industry-standard texturing and material creation tools such as Adobe CC Suite, Substance Suite, and Quixel Suite.
+ Proficient in industry-standard rendering tools such as Arnold, Cycles, RenderMan, V-ray or similar.
+ Proficient in industry-standard game engines such as Unity, Unreal or similar.
+ Strong understanding of 3D modeling (both high-poly and low-poly), unwrapping, texture baking, realistic material creation (PBR standard) and the rendering process.
+ Basic understanding of game engines and related asset/scene/app optimisation.
+ Proven experience in creating inorganic objects in a production environment, using CG software.
+ Good understanding of industrial design – our models require a strong degree of technical knowledge both in the software we use and the function areas that need to be developed to make realistic-looking final renders.
+ Experience in applying and tweaking shaders.
+ Good level of English, both spoken and written.
+ Sketching, drawing, painting, design and storyboarding skills are desirable.
+ Experience in vehicle or industrial design is a plus.
+ Experience in the field of mechanical engineering is a plus.

Contract and remuneration
Cooperation can be based on a fixed Czech employment contract (provided you have residency here), or on a consultancy agreement.
Remuneration is above Czech average, subject to the candidate’s skills, and open for negotiation.
