Thomas: The Apple Vision Pro is not a product for the mass market, it’s a premium product comparable to Varjo’s XR3 or XR4.
The technology that is built in Apple’s headset is highly advanced and perfect for its main purpose of creating virtual screens and interacting with virtual objects in Augmented Reality (AR).
Thomas: In my opinion, the camera pass-through technology for Mixed Reality (MR) headsets is the way to go. It opens up the potential metaverses and can create the most immersive AR experiences.
Watching movies in Virtual Reality (VR) is a pretty old concept and doesn’t take advantage of the technology. For example, would you want to watch a movie through goggles, if you know you need to change the battery halfway through?
Thomas: I wouldn’t say that Apple is late in the development to introduce new goggles to the market. Everyone has been waiting for the next big thing from Apple and I would say they delivered a top notch product.
Apple is known for releasing products a bit later, so everybody enjoys new technology as soon as it’s available. Apple uses their extra time for development, to create a user friendly experience.
Of course we now have to see how the market reacts to it and how well it will be received.
