The client and issue
Client, Swiss Life Select Germany, starts each year with a big annual kick-off event, the so-called “JUMP”. On this day, there are presentations and an exclusive programme for the sales partners. Being one of the largest German financial advisory companies and part of the Swiss Life Group, they wanted to start the event off with a bang.
The solution
The solution is a commissioned motion design piece for the stage show. The concept took into consideration the motto of that year’s event, “Lighting the fire together”. Following a narrative and design concept, the piece incorporated AI-generated image elements to create a final animation that was impressive, and kicked off “JUMP!” with a bang.
Graphics made more impactful with hardware
The concept revolves around the passing on of a fire, like the Olympic torch.
A special feature here were the screens to be used – three very long curved monitor units staggered one above the other, which were to display the animations seamlessly.
This installation was supplemented by a screen placed centrally in front of it to play the large-scale transition animations.
Combined impact of 2D and 3D
The team transferred the provided still graphics of the sphere into a 3D object and animation. This was complemented with specially cut up and edited landscape images in order to transfer them into a 3D space and to move cameras around them accordingly.
The accompanying fire, sparks, wind, light and glow effects were animated in the 2D workspace and combined in a way that corresponded to the format specifications and loop or interlock correctly with the rest of the animated show.
