The client and issue
Systemair is one of the leading companies in the ventilation industry. They aim to provide the best environment and cost efficient services even in the most challenging situations – such as in the sandy and hot weather conditions in Dubai, UAE, where the Systemair-sponsored Swedish Pavilion was built as part of the Dubai Expo 2020.
To promote their sponsorship, Systemair took out ad space in an industry magazine. It was important for their ad to stand out so that magazine readers would be attracted to explore the virtual version of the Swedish Pavilion. They wanted everyone, especially those who were not able to physically make it to Dubai, to “see” the pavilion and its advanced ventilation solutions powered by Systemair.
The solution
From 2D to 3D
MRstudios brought the Swedish pavilion to life, using the printed ad visual as an Augmented Reality (AR) marker.
The user simply has to open his or her mobile phone camera and point the camera at the ad visual. Sensing the AR marker, through the mobile phone’s screen, a 3D version of the unique Swedish pavilion emerges from the 2D print ad.
Open up a whole new world of possibilities
This prompts the reader to visit Systemair’s Expo 2020 showcase page, where they can learn more about the project in depth.
This AR print marketing idea is a fun, interactive and definitely unique way of making the most of a static, single-paged print ad.
